1. How does online advertising with BioCarta compare with other online or print advertising?
A visitor to BioCarta, and therefore a viewer of your advertising, is an exceptionally qualified customer.
In viewing a pathway or performing a gene search, the viewer is highly interested in the specific content of
that particular pathway and/or gene. Furthermore, this exceptionally qualified viewer, at some point in their
information gathering, is also looking for reagents to help conduct research of the particular pathway and/or
gene that he/she has chosen.
Furthermore, unlike much print advertising, online advertising provides
24/7 access to your advertising and content is constantly being updated
by the community to bring back the viewers.
Finally, the BioCarta visitor is a life scientist, not an astronomer or a
physicist.
2. I would like to link my web page to a specific portion of the BioCarta site, can I?
Absolutely. Whether you are an individual who wants a quick link to a diagram representing your
area of research or a company who thinks the information is useful, we encourage you to link to our site.
In many cases, sites which give information related to diseases can benefit from a link in their
text to related molecular models on the BioCarta site. Software packages for analysis of high density
array experiments also have interests in providing links to the BioCarta Gene Database. In doing so,
they give their users the ability to quickly find the known models for how a particular molecule might
interact with others. This is something which otherwise requires excruciating literature review.
3. How will I be able to track the number of visitors who have seen my ad on BioCarta?
As an advertiser, you will be provided with regular traffic reports that pertain to the pathway(s) and/or
gene(s) that you have sponsored.
4.How often can I change my banner ad?
You may change your banner ad and corresponding link at least once a month
to correspond with your marketing strategies.
5.How can I advertise my products on the site other than banner advertising?
Other thank sponsoring a pathway or gene, you can register your reagents in our Reagent Exchange.
Batch uploading of large sets of product data is available free of charge
to our advertisers, or, for a nominal fee, for non-advertisers.
By registering your reagents in Reagent Exchange, each time a gene search
is conducted or a pathway icon is selected, the gene results page will
also bring up the products which you have designated as related to a
particular gene.
Furthermore, you may want to post data using your products in our ePoster
section. This will further validate the efficacy of your products.
As in Reagent Exchange, you can designate what genes would be related to
the data that you are presenting.
6.What type of rates does BioCarta charge for advertising?
Please contact advertising@biocarta.com so we can develop a custom package for you.
Our standard rates for pathway and gene sponsorship are sold in month
increments, with discounts for multiple sponsorship and/or longer term
commitments. Also, by advertising on the site, we will provide you with
the traffic reports with which to quantify your advertising investment
and provide assistance in uploading your reagent listings to the Reagent
Exchange section.
7.I don’t have a web banner that I can provide. Can BioCarta help me with
the design of a web banner for my company?
We have strong graphic design professionals in-house that can assist you in the design
of a web banner, even animated ones. Please contact advertising@biocarta.com or more
information.
8.How can I be notified of changes on the BioCarta site and future advertising opportunities?
You can register as a My BioCarta member or contact advertising@biocarta.com to be placed on the advertiser’s notification service.
