Description: Description: Phospholipase C comes in multiple forms and plays a key role in the signal transduction process for many receptors. Its main function is to hydrolyze phosphatidylinositoldiphosphate into diacylglycerol (DG) and inositoltriphosphate (IP3). DG is necessary for further activation of Protein Kinase C while IP3 leads to the release of intracellular calcium.
